Q:Career highlight

A:One life-changing moment was receiving my first company contract in 2020. Dancing at home during the pandemic was incredibly challenging for everyone, so being accepted into a professional company during that difficult time was so precious. It not only started my career but also transformed my life. Going from graduating ballet school online and dancing in my dining room to performing Swan Lake within two weeks felt like an impossible dream come true during those months!

Q:What made your time with LCB special?

A:LCB afforded me the opportunity to believe in myself. I fondly recall the early Sunday morning drives to Dance Attic, the costume fittings, the long rehearsals, the laughter shared with other like-minded dancers, and standing in the wings listening to the incredible orchestra - moments I wanted to preserve in my heart forever. As a shy and quiet little ballerina who yearned to absorb everything about ballet, the transformation into a professional is something I don’t think I could have achieved without the insight, encouragement, and opportunities that LCB provided me.

Q:What you are up to now

A:After graduating from the Central School of Ballet in 2020, I have spent the past four years performing in large classical repertoire at my company in Bulgaria and now dancing professionally around London. In addition to my dance career, I am also a freelance illustrator, blending my ballet expertise to craft stage sets for various performances, children's books, and commissions. It's a truly privileged and fulfilling moment to see how my journey has come full circle, especially as I continue to collaborate with LCB creating artistic commissions for the company!

Q:What is your favourite LCB ballet?

A:Ballet shoes will always hold a special place in my heart. As a child, I watched Matthew Hart's 'Peter and the Wolf' multiple times on YouTube, amazed by his ability to choreograph a story to life. Additionally, from a young age, Noel Streatfeild's book, 'Ballet Shoes', was a prevalent novel in my life, serving as a reference to reflect my love of ballet, much like Posey. Having the opportunity to rehearse and perform with a choreographer and story I admired felt like personal collaboration, one that I got to share with lifelong friends.
