James Lovell
Dancer with New Adventures
LCB Productions performed in: Nanny McPhee 2014, Snow White 2015 and Little Lord Fauntleroy 2016.
Q:What was life like at London Children's Ballet?
A:LCB was such a whirlwind experience, I met people my own age who were as passionate about performing as I was, I made friends I still see to this day, and at the end of it all we all got to be on a west end stage together!
Q:When did you know you wanted to pursue a dancing career?
A:After I saw Matthew Bourne’s Sleeping Beauty in 2015, it made me see Dance in a different way, it was grittier than anything I’d seen before, mime wasn’t used in the same way it was in ballet, it was more like watching a silent movie and I knew from that point on I wanted to work for the company one day.
Q:What is your favourite ballet?
A:My favourite classical ballet would be Kenneth Macmillan’s Manon and my favourite dance theatre show would be Matthew Bourne’s The Car Man.
Q:Where has been your favourite place to perform?
A:The Kennedy Centre in Washington or New York City Centre were both pretty epic ‘pinch me’ moments
Q:What remains your biggest dream?
A:To continue performing until eventually I can retire at a very ripe age to a beach house somewhere, with my grandkids sat on my knees asking to hear about all my stories from ‘back when I used to play make believe for a living.’
