Q:What is your favourite LCB ballet

A:Secret Garden will always have my heart! It was so special to be part of the original cast, I think the story is fantastic and the score by Artem Vassiliev will always make me feel emotional- it's so beautiful. Having been revived 3 (now 4) times I think it's a very special LCB show for good reason.

Describe LCB in 3 words:

Life changing, important, joyful

Q:What are your career highlights?

A:I am very lucky to be enjoying a wonderful dancing career, and have many highlights that I feel exceptionally grateful for...from touring the world and getting to perform in incredible countries like Japan, Switzerland and France; to stepping on to stage in front of 45,000 people at BBC Radio 2 Live in Hyde Park. Most recently I have been touring the UK with 'Dirty Dancing' and as an understudy stepped into the lead role of Penny Johnson over 37 times - the first time with only half an hour's notice, and sometimes in the middle of a show! Nothing like the drama of theatre...but it showed me that we are all capable of ANYTHING we put our minds to!

Q:Can you describe your experience being part of LCB?

A:Performing with London Children's Ballet was the first time I realised that a professional dance career was even a possibility. It opened my eyes to the powerful and positive impact dance can have on audiences everywhere. It left me spellbound by the magic of theatre and I've never ever looked back. I credit London Children's Ballet fully as the reason I have the career and passion for performing that I do now. I have a very fond spot for the grubby walls of the Dance Attic (where LCB rehearsed long before they got their beautiful Yellow Storage studios) and the memories of Sunday rehearsals... getting sweets from Anne (nothing changes!), giggling with my fellow company members and working together as a company to bring a story to life just as a professional ballet company would. My favourite experiences were performing for the Thursday matinees/Ballet for 1£ audiences and getting to tour to hospices, schools and care homes with the company- getting to see the difference we could make to people simply by sharing the thing we loved was life changing. I love that I still share an unbreakable connection with my fellow LCB alumni and I jump at any opportunity to come back to teach, help rehearse or visit now as an adult. The warm welcome from the whole team in the office is always the same- LCB is one big family, and once you're part of it, you're always a part of it!

Q:What are you up to at the moment?

A:Currently I am rehearsing a brand new theatre production of "The Artist" (adapted from the Oscar award winning film) which will make it's world premiere at the Theatre Royal Plymouth in a few weeks time. I am very excited!
