LCB 2 Touring Companies
London Children’s Ballet has three touring companies, LCB2, that perform highlights of LCB ballets to people in the Greater London area who are physically unable to attend the theatre. Each touring company is comprised of 12 – 16 talented dancers, aged 9 -14, who are selected at the company’s annual auditions. In 2009 the tours visited 30 venues including special needs schools, hospices, nursing homes and other community centres. After performances LCB2 dancers meet the audiences, answer questions and where possible give some of the spectators and opportunity to try some of the steps and look at the costumes. Dancers and their families have felt that the experience mixing with the audiences can be as important to them as the opportunity to perform.
