Matthew Hart
Matthew Hart trained at the Arts Educational School and The Royal Ballet School.In 1991 he graduated into The Royal Ballet and was promoted to Soloist before joining Rambert Dance Company in 1996. He is an award-winning choreographer, creating works for ballet companies and schools both in the UK and abroad.
Matthew joined the Ballet Boyz as a founder member in 2001 and has been a guest artist and choreographer with K Ballet, Tokyo. In 2004 he made his song-and-dance debut in Adam Cooper’s production of On Your Toes. For the Royal Opera House (ROH2) at the Linbury, he has created roles in Will Tuckett’s The Wind in the Willows (Toad), The Soldier’s Tale (Devil), Pinnocchio (Pinnocchio), The Thief of Baghdad (King of the Mountains), Cathy Marston’s Ghosts (Oswald) and Kim Brandstrup’s Anatomy of a Storyteller ( the Prince). In 2006 Matthew appeared on Strictly Dance Fever (BBC1) as a guest dance expert. He played the Prince in Matthew Bourne’s revival of Swan Lake both in Paris and at Sadler’s Wells. In 2007 he performed in the revival of the musical Babes in Arms at the Chichester Festival Theatre. He also featured in Viva La Diva alongside Darcey Bussell and Katherine Jenkins. He played Puck in A Midsummer Night’s Dream for the 2008 summer season at the Regent’s Park Open Air Theatre. Matthew’s film credits include Mrs Henderson Presents, Riot at the Rite and Margot.
